POLICE are appealing for information after a man was repeatedly hit with a metal bar in a suspected road rage attack last week.
The incident happened at around 9.40pm on Northbrook Road, Gloucester, on Friday, July 7.
The victim had pulled their vehicle into the car park at McDonald's followed shortly afterwards by a second car, a Ford Fiesta.
A verbal altercation between the victim and the suspect took place before a third vehicle, a Hyundai Tucson, believed to be with the suspect, pulled up.
The suspect then took a metal bar from his boot and hit the victim several times.
Both the suspect and the Hyundai then drove off. It is believed that a woman and at least two children were in the Hyundai.
The victim was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where he was treated for a serious head wound and a fractured left arm.
Gloucestershire Police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident or who has any dash cam or CCTV footage which they believe to be relevant.
