A MAN from a village near Yate has been sentenced after assaulting a police officer earlier this year.
Matthew Rogers, aged 23, of Summer View, Wickwar, admitted assaulting an emergency worker when he appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 15.
He assaulted a male police officer in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire on March 3.
Rogers must pay £200 in compensation plus £85 costs - a total of £285.
A community order was imposed.
The defendant must complete 90 days of an alcohol treatment programme.
