A TENNIS club in Thornbury has launched a new partnership to make the sport more inclusive for those with additional needs or disabilities.
Thornbury Tennis Club along with its coaching partner, Taylor Tennis Coaching, have started working with JIGSAW Thornbury to bring the sport to more young people.
Since Easter, children have been enjoying learning new tennis skills with coach Emma Nicholls at the end of Mundy Playing Fields.
Emma uses a series of games and fun activities to introduce participants to the sport.
Recent sessions have been described by the parents or carers of those who took part as ‘brilliant’ and ‘great opportunity’ which has significantly increased attendees' confidence.
A spokesperson said: “Thornbury Tennis Club, Taylor Tennis and JIGSAW are proud to have joined forces to provide opportunities that make such a difference to our young and diverse community.
“JIGSAW thanks the children and young people and their families for their time in letting them know they had fun, connected and thrived, a vision promoted by JIGSAW Thornbury.”
These tennis sessions with JIGSAW will continue from the start of the new school year in September on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10am.
