HUNDREDS attended a unique event near Berkeley over the weekend.
The first-ever New Park Challenge took place on Sunday, October 1 with more than 20 teams racing with handmade carts at Hystfield.
The event saw creative and unusual powered carts negotiate a challenging downhill course which included jumps, chicanes and a water splash.
Organisers say more than 1,000 people attended and it is hoped it will be an annual challenge.
The event was in aid of Severn Area Rescue Association and The Gloucestershire Society.

A spokesperson said: “A great time was had by all who attended.
“The event was held at New Park Farm, home of Charles and Daisy Berkeley on the Berkeley Estate.
“They were very kind to allow us to run it there.
“The course was amazing and constructed by Philip Pritchard and a group of helpers who also ran the Purton Soapbox in 2018 and 2019.
“We had a massive team of helpers to help set it up and run the event on the day and without their help we wouldn’t have been able to do it.
“The people who took part were awesome and I think very brave as it’s quite a steep hill!”
