A CYCLIST involved in a hit and run in Easter Compton has died.
The man, in the his 30s of Southmead, was found in the middle of the road at Blackhorse Hill, Easter Compton, at around 1am on Tuesday, July 8.
He died in Frenchay hospital this morning, Wednesday, July 9, where he had remained in a critical condition since the incident.
The cyclist had suffered serious head injuries, including a fractured skull.
Sgt Craig Ogborne, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: "Police and ambulance were called to a report that a man had fallen off his bike. On arrival it was found that the man had serious head injuries and he was taken to Frenchay Hospital.
"Anyone who might have witnessed what happened is asked to contact the Police as soon as possible."
Police are looking for the vehicle involved and are appealing for anyone who has any information about the collision to call the force's collision investigation unit on 0845 4567000.
