HEAVY overnight rainfall has caused flooding and blocked train lines.

This morning's rain has led to travel disruption throughout the area.

The Environment Agency issued a flood warning for Slad Brook in Stroud at around 8.45am from Upper Steanbridge Mill to Rowcroft.

The alert is still live with the agency warning that properties are at risk of flooding.

Hopton Road in Cam is currently flooded as a result of the heavy rainfall.

There is also currently travel chaos across the area’s train lines.

Meanwhile, part of the M4 near Chippenham and Bath has closed both directions following a serious crash which involved multiple cars and a HGV.

Gloucestershire Police said in a statement: "With heavy rain, standing water and flooding expected across Gloucestershire today please allow yourself extra time to travel and keep plenty of distance between yourself and the vehicle in front.

"Remember drive to the conditions, take care and keep safe."
