A MAN has been arrested over the death of a cyclist in Easter Compton.
The 36-year-old from South Gloucestershire was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice yesterday.
The man was taken to Staple Hill Police Station for questioning but has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The cyclist, a man in his 30s of Bristol, was found in the middle of the road at Blackhorse Hill, Easter Compton, at around 1am on Tuesday, July 8.
He was taken to Frenchay hospital with serious head injuries but later died.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and urge anyone with information to call the force's collision investigation unit on 0845 4567000.
