ANOTHER music festival will be held in Yate next year, the town council has confirmed.
Plans are already underway for the fourth annual line-up of local bands and family entertainment at Kingsgate Park next June.
This year's festival was hailed a huge success after the number of revellers who turned up to enjoy the free music doubled since 2007.
At a debrief meeting after this year's event, town councillors agreed to budget for another festival.
Organiser Cllr John Ford (Yate Central) said: "It was the best festival yet.
"We will hold the festival on the same weekend next year as it was such a success."
Proposals to extend the programme of events to become a two-day extravaganza have been scrapped following costings.
An extra 24 hours of music and family fun would have added nearly £4,000 to the council's budget for the event.
Cllr Sue Walker (Yate Central) said: "It would have been nice to have it over two days as we could have had local bands on one day and all sorts of music throughout the weekend."
Kingsgate Park will host a picnic in the park on Sunday, September 7 (3-5pm) when a swing band will play to the crowds and the council agreed to investigate holding another events in different parts of the town.
