POLICE officers on horseback were spotted in Frampton today as part of an operation to encourage safe driving.
Officers from Dursley Police as well as Rural Crime Officers and The Mounted Section patrolled the village as part of Operation Close Pass.
The initiative was launched by forces across the UK to reduce the number of collisions.
It is hoped the scheme encourages drivers to give more space to other road users including cyclists and horse-riders.
A statement from Stroud Police reads: “Operation Close Pass was carried out today in Frampton by members of Dursley Neighbourhood Team, Rural Crime Officers & The Mounted Section to raise awareness of road safety & target irresponsible and dangerous drivers."
