A MAN from Yate has been sentenced after possessing a fake handgun in a public place.
Joel Gill, aged 20, admitted possessing an imitation firearm, a Glock 17 pistol on February 8 last year in Bristol.
Gill, of Chatterton Road, Yate, pleaded not guilty to a separate charge of causing fear of violence against a named man during the same incident.
The case was heard at Bristol Crown Court on November 20.
Gill was ordered to pay £150 in compensation.
He was ordered to complete 140 hours of unpaid work within 12 months and take part in 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
A curfew period was also imposed against Gill, which is due to last for five months.
