A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with inconsiderate driving and failure to stop after his car collided with a pedestrian.

The incident happened on Sunday at 6pm in Kingshill Road, Dursley.

Police said a blue Peugeot 207 collided with a passenger who had got out of a red Rover.

The passenger of the Rover, a 26 year-old man from Dursley, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he underwent surgery for a leg injury.

A resident who lives in Kingshill Road, Dulcie Sawyer, who witnessed the collision, said: "I was at the front of my house doing some gardening when I heard something.

"I saw the young man lying on the floor holding his leg. Then all the emergency services turned up.

"I helped the police divert traffic for a while because it caused chaos on Kingshill Road, which was very busy at that time."

The driver of the Peugeot, a Stonehouse man, has been charged with inconsiderate driving, failure to stop and failure to report an accident. He is on police bail until a court appearance at Gloucester Magistrates' Court on July 29.
