AN AFTER school club is flying high after receiving a quality assurance award for their high standard of childcare.
Uley School Fun Club, an after school club at the village primary school, has been given a Flying High Quality Assurance Award with an excellent grade, from the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
Uley is so far the only school to achieve an excellent grade in all five core sections, which are play values, staffing, health and safety, policies and procedures and customer care.
"We are absolutely thrilled to get the award, we are all very proud of ourselves," said Jan Saunders, line manager of the club.
"I would like praise to go to our governors and our fantastic play leader, Rachael Lamb, who really brings it all together,"
The club has only been running two years but is extremely popular, not only parents who work during the day, but also with children who just want to have fun with their friend in the evening.
"We are really flexible at the club. We run from 3.15pm - 6pm so it is excellent for parents who work," added Mrs Saunders.
"The children have so much fun and that is what the club is all about really."
