POLICE say they are confident they are tackling residents' concerns.
The claim comes after a recent meeting of the Severn Safer and Stronger Community Group.
At the meeting, which includes representatives of various groups and organisations, members reviewed the policing priorities for the area.
The priorities were speeding vehicles in Elberton, youth nuisance in Olveston and parking issues at Olveston School.
During the last three months police say they have issued 21 speeding tickets in Elberton.
Sgt Craig Ogborne, from Thornbury Police Station, said: "Police and the local community are close to establishing a small community watch group.
"We have obtained a speed gun for them to use so further enforcement can continue."
During the meeting Sgt Ogborne reported that as a result of meetings between Olveston Parish Council, police and Olveston Primary School a school travel plan will soon be established.
Sgt Ogborne also said that extra patrols were being carried out in the area to deter youths from gathering.
"We would encourage people to report any instances of youth nuisances," he said.
The next meeting of the Severn Safer and Stronger Community Group will be on Wednesday, October 8, 7.30pm. Location to be confirmed.
