A ROAD in a village near Thornbury has been closed due to flooding.
A spokesperson from South Gloucestershire Council has confirmed that Stidcot Lane in Tytherington is currently shut.
It is understood heavy rainfall across the South Gloucestershire area has been around seven times higher than average over the last few months.
A SGC spokesperson added: “A lot of saturated ground and swollen rivers have led to flooding.
“Our teams will be on standby if water levels increase.”
Elsewhere, Down Road in Winterbourne is now passable and has been reopened.
