A MAN from a village near Yate has been sentenced after he was caught behind the wheel while banned and without insurance
Michael Winder, aged 37, was caught without a driving licence or insurance in Mayshill, Badminton Road, Coalpit Heath on August 29 last year.
Winder, of The Causeway, Coalpit Heath, admitted the two driving offences during a hearing at Bristol Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 4.
He was sentenced to a eight week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
Winder was also ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 in costs plus a £154 surcharge - a total of £539.
He was banned from driving for four months.
