WALKERS recently took part in a community walk in the centre of Thornbury.
A group of dedicated fundraisers walked a 5km loop around accessible paths in the town.
The event - the first of its kind - raised more than £1,000 for JIGSAW Thornbury, which is also celebrating its tenth anniversary.
The charity which works with children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs or disabilities and their families.
The evening on Saturday, March 23 had a “through the decades” theme where people were encouraged to dress up in clothes from their favourite decade.
A Super Mario inspired warm up was also led by the charity’s CEO Hattie Clayton.
Organiser Lisa Straccia, people and participation lead at JIGSAW Thornbury, said: “I am so proud with how the event turned out, it was so lovely seeing people chatting, making new friends and sharing their stories.
“I want to thank everyone that took part, all those who sponsored us and a special thanks to our marshals who braved the cold and kept us safe and sane!”
The walk was supported by Thornbury gym Elite Fitness whose owner Russell Knight helped to design and map out the route.
They also provided marshals for the night and gave fundraisers a complimentary week’s pass to use the facilities at the gym.
