A MERCEDES driver has been banned from the road after he was caught while twice the alcohol limit at a Tesco in Yate.
Jason Maher, aged 54, was caught at Tesco Express in Station Road, Yate on Tuesday, February 23 having consumed 80 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the limit being 35 microgrammes.
Maher, of Gilfach Road, Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taff, near Caerphilly, pleaded guilty at Bristol Magistrates Court on March 25.
He was fined £120 with a £48 surcharge plus £85 costs - a total of £253 - and was banned for 17 months.
