BADMINTON Horse Trials in the 1970s takes centre stage in the nostalgia section this week.
There is some cracking action captured by former Gazette photographer David Ireland on a Facebook group.
Badminton House is now the family home of the 12th Duke of Beaufort, Harry Somerset who has always taken an active role in the event. His Grace’s father, David, who passed away in August 2017, was President of the Horse Trials and was himself a very successful rider in the sport, being placed second here in 1959.
