A MOTHER from Yate who failed to regularly send her daughter to school has been hit with a hefty court bill.
The parent was ordered to pay approximately £1,004 because her 15-year-old failed to attend secondary school on a regular basis for six months.
The mum, child and school cannot be named for legal reasons.
The case was proved in the defendant’s absence at Bristol Magistrates Court on April 15.
The woman was fined £660 and must pay a £264 victim surcharge plus £80 in costs.
