A STRING of brilliant events are coming to Berkeley Castle this month.
The Joust
Families will be able to watch medieval knights on their steeds battle each other for honour and glory at the castle on Sunday, May 5 and Monday, May 6.
An organiser said: “Knights and horses combine for hard hitting medieval jousting displays, filled with sword swinging, gut punching thrills… anything can happen and often does with fantastic audience participation and comedy included.”
Tickets are £18 for adults, £10 for children aged three to 16 and are free for children under three.
The Merry Monarch
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a fabulous living history weekend at the castle on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27
An organiser said: “Join in with this Royal occasion including a 6-horse display, music, maypole dancing, and the chance to talk to King Charles II himself!”
Knight School
Visitors will be able to learn the ancient skill of sword fighting as accomplished warriors on Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29.
An organiser said: “Join one of our exclusive classes to experience life as a Knight’s apprentice.
“Watch the Warrior Show on the Lower Lawns each day and the display of incredible, authentic steel armour masterfully crafted by experts Dressed to Kill.”
