A POPULAR Yate event will kick-off the summer fan when it reopens again next week.

Yate Beach will be opening in the central square of the town's shopping centre bon Saturday, May 25, and will stay open until Saturday, August 31.

Two special events are also planned for the late May Bank Holiday week.

On Tuesday, May 28  it’s a safari special when visitors can meet the Zoo Keepers with their safari animals along with free balloon modelling and face painting while stocks last.

On Thursday, May 30, there will be the Party Peeps beach party between 11am and 3pm for a day filled with fun and games, a taster of the coming summer months.

Yate Shopping Centre’s manager, Andrew Lowrey, said: :”The beach is one of our most popular events and always attracts a large number of visitors during its three months visit.

“The two late May events will bring an air of excitement to the Centre with safari animals and a hint of what lies ahead in the summer months with an array of free events for all to enjoy”.
