A POPULAR beer, cider and live music festival which 'brings visitors' to Chipping Sodbury is to return for its third year next month. 

Sodbury Fest is taking place on Saturday, July 13 and will be hosted at The Ridings by Chipping Sodbury RFC, a club celebrating 75 years this year. 

The line up of live music for the day includes:

  1. The Peppercorns - one of Bristol's most popular live Acoustic Duos,
  2. Ross McKay - - a flourishing young local acoustic solo
  3. Seb Gibson – performing George Formby solo classics on his banjo.
  4. Jimmy Lee & Dyligans - skiffle, rock ‘n roll, country & folk 
  5. The Cats Pyjamas - local trio who promote vibrant vintage 1940s sounds and fashion,
  6. DJ Alistaire Lawrence - a regular at the Horseshoe pub in Sodbury,
  7. For The Record - covers 70's/80's to current
  8. Freeze - early 80’s jazz funk band.

New for this year is free entertainment for kids, sponsored by Heidelberg Materials UK.  

DJ Bridgee'o's Entertainments will be hosting an inflatable arena for any kids (accompanied by a paying adult) to use as many times as they like and providing free squash and water.

The evening will finish at 11pm following a 90-minute set from ‘Badness’, an acclaimed Madness tribute band who promise immense energy and excitement for festival goers to sing and dance along with.

Local food vendors include:

·         Noodle Bar - delicious Chinese style noodles, rice, spring rolls and much more

·        Carvery van - serving the infamous Yorkshire pudding wraps

·        Caribbean food

·         Marshfield farm ice cream -serving delicious dairy ice cream and barista style coffee

·         Ivy - tasty homemade donuts with various toppings, and slushie’s

A spokesperson for the Sodbury Fest Committee said: “We were so excited to bring back Sodbury Fest to The Ridings in 2024.

"We love seeing the local community come together and enjoy themselves whilst supporting their local rugby club which has been an integral part of the town for the past 75 years.
