A VILLAGE school club has recently been inspected by education watchdog Ofsted and has received a glowing report.
Charfield Out of School Club located at Charfield Primary School has been told it has met the required standard following a visit on April 24.
The before and after-school club was labelled by the inspector as “friendly” and “well-organised” where staff show genuine care and respect for children.
Children were also described as “polite” who behave “extremely well” and are inspired to explore imaginatively through interesting and stimulating activities
According to the report, parents talk very positively about the club and told the inspector that staff have built “wonderful relationships” with children.
The inspector also described staff as “very caring”, “patient” who attentively support children.
“We like to make it a home from home for the children"
Ben Holloway, manager of Charfield out of school club said: “We are very happy with the report.
“The criteria is now only met or not met for after school clubs but the inspector didn’t give us a single recommendation on how to improve the club.
“On the day the inspector praised the hard working and caring nature of all the staff who work very hard in ensuring the club is the best it can be for all the wonderful children.
“The report shows that we have an amazing staff team who go above and beyond in ensuring the children are happy, safe and enjoy time spent at the club.
“We like to make it a home from home for the children who can enjoy down time before and after school.”
The report reads: “Children happily chat and laugh with each other and staff as they arrive at this friendly and well-organised club.
“Staff skilfully support the children. They explore and create alongside them, offering ideas and techniques, and encouraging children to think and solve problems.
“Children smile proudly at their creations and eagerly take them home to show their parents.
“Children are exceptionally well involved in club life.
“Their views are valued, and the managers are constantly introducing new ways for children's ideas to be heard and used effectively.”
The club is open from 7.30am to 8.40am and then from 3.10pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
In the school holidays and during school training days, the club is open 7.30am to 6pm.
