A POPULAR restaurant and pub in Wotton has opened its own butcher’s shop.
The Falcon Steakhouse has opened a shop selling a variety of local meats.
Products include sausages, cooked ham, Sunday joints, mince beef and some more traditional items such as Barnsley chops, faggots and black pudding.
The shop is located inside the restaurant itself and is open from 11am everyday (10am on a Sunday).
Landlord Andy Starling said: "Since the loss of the butchers in the town there was a gap in the market.
“So we thought we should use the fantastic relationships we have with our butcher and local suppliers to bring quality local meat produce to our customers in Wotton, and hopefully we gain more customers off the back of it."
Landlady Jennifer Starling said: "Growing up on a beef farm it's important to give customers a local outlet to buy locally farmed meat, and opening up alongside our pub hours means that it was a no brainer for us.
“We had the space, so we thought we'd give it a go.
“All the meat we sell is reared in Gloucestershire including some of our fantastic beef from our family farm only a couple of miles from the front door.”
