HARDWORKING volunteers at a village shop were recently thanked with free ice cream.
Uley Community Stores opened its doors in 2012 after a successful campaign from the community to save its shop.
The shop has depended on its loyal team of volunteers since the very beginning and were recently thanked for their work as part of Volunteers Week 2024.
A spokesperson said: “Volunteering at the shop is lots of fun, a great way to get to know the local community, and it's rewarding to know you're giving something back.
“We are always delighted to hear from people who would like to get involved, whether behind the scenes or behind the till, even if you can only give an hour here or there.”
