A STRONG warning has been issued after a large number of drivers have been parking inconsiderately in Dursley town centre.
Dursley Town Council has urged all motorists to abide by the parking restrictions in Parsonage Street.
A council spokesperson said in a statement they have received multiple complaints from residents and businesses.
The spokesperson said: “We have been receiving complaints from local residents and businesses regarding the volume of parked vehicles on Parsonage Street, with vehicles having been parked for several hours.
“Parsonage Street is subject to parking restrictions which mean the only parking permitted is by those who are loading and/or unloading from a vehicle.
“There are no other valid reasons for parking in this part of the town centre.
"Contravening the parking restrictions could result in a fixed penalty fine issued by Gloucestershire County Council's parking enforcement officers who regularly visit the town.
“The town council would ask visitors and business owners who use this area for parking to cease immediately and to use the current parking provisions in the town's car parks which remain free to use.”
The town council is due to discuss the parking issue at its town improvements committee on Tuesday, July 9.
