A NEW food van has opened in Thornbury High Street.
The trailer - a converted Piaggio Ape - is run by Hawkes House, serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, snacks and salads.
The business recently acquired a street trading licence from South Gloucestershire Council to run the grab and go service.
A spokesperson said they are also running a kids eat for £1 offer to ensure that “no child goes hungry over the holidays”.
“All served in compostable packaging to take on the go or sit in our seating area on the high street to watch the world go by,” the spokesperson said.
“We’ve been trading for a couple of weeks now and have loved being a part of the bustling revived high street hospitality scene.
“Whenever the sun shines, we will be there from just after 9am to just before 3pm, 7 days a week.
“Every school holiday we run a ‘kids eat for a quid’ offer to ensure that no child goes hungry over the holidays.
“We have extended this offer to the van and will have a daily choice of a small meal for just £1 with no other purchase necessary.
“We hope to reach 500+ children with this offer before the summer is out.”
