A BANK in the centre of Yate has reduced its weekly opening hours.
Lloyds Bank - based at E Walk in the town's shopping centre - will no longer open on a Thursday.
The bank says that they have tested ways of working and will be moving colleagues to where the greatest demand is.
Colleagues who normally work at the branch on a Thursday will now be supporting customers through other channels, the bank adds.
A similar move was made in Stroud where the bank no longer opens on a Tuesday.
A spokesperson for Lloyds said: "As more customers choose to manage their day-to-day banking online, it’s important our people are available when it matters most.
"The Yate branch will be open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays between 9am-5pm and on Saturdays between 9am-1pm.
"Customers can bank with us through our mobile app or online 24/7, and can use the local Post Office or alternative branches.”
