AN urgent warning has been issued by police after lethal drugs were stolen from a van in Frampton on Severn.

The substances, which are used to euthanise animals, were taken from the vehicle belonging to a vet who had parked outside an address in the village.

The theft happened between 11pm on Wednesday, July 31 and 5am on Thursday, August 1

Officers from Gloucestershire Police are now concerned that anyone taking them could become seriously ill or even die as a result.

They have urged anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the drugs to come forward.

Several other vehicles were also broken into in the area overnight.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV, has information which could assist or who has found the items discarded.

Superintendent Andy Kilmurray said: "We are deeply concerned that these drugs, which will almost certainly prove fatal if taken, are now in circulation.

"We are warning people who may have come across them not to take them but would urge them to come forward to us."
