IT has been announced that improvements will soon be made to a play and sports facilities in Yate.
Yate Town Council has secured funding from Section 106 developer obligations for two play and sports areas in the town.
This includes:
- £9,048.42 capital / £2,738.65 revenue to fund improvements to facilities for disability athletics at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex
- £4,737.37 capital / £4,981.38 revenue to fund play improvements at Millside Play Zone, Yate.
Meanwhile, the town council is currently awaiting the outcome of a third bid.
This includes funding to make pitch improvements at Sunnyside Playing Fields/The Common (£66,997.82 capital / £20,278.02 revenue).
Yate mayor Ben Nutland said: ‘We are delighted to have secured funding which we will use to invest in our local facilities.
“We’re excited to start progress on the project as soon as we can.”
