A NEW shop is due to open its doors in a pub car park in Chipping Sodbury next month.
The Co-Op store is due to open located in Heron Way next to the Tern Inn pub on Friday, September 13.
Once it opens, it is believed around 14 new jobs will be created.
The site also includes 15 designated customer spaces plus four bike stands.
The store will have a Costa machine and bakery selection.
It will also offer an online grocery delivery service with Deliveroo and Uber.
It comes after plans for the shop were approved by South Gloucestershire Council
in May 2021.
Nine flats - which include seven one-bedroom flats and two two-bedroom flats - are also being built above the shop.
New manager Max Davis said: “Work has currently started on fitting out the shop ready for opening!
“It will be a great local community supporting store.
“We hope to work and support the local school & food share partners.
“Local community projects can apply on the Co-Op website for funding.
“The customers can then select the local charity through the Co-Op app.
“Money off vouchers will also be sent to the local community for money off their first shop.”
The new shop is the first Co-Op in the Yate area.
Customers in the area usually have to travel to Winterbourne, Downend or Charfield to visit a Co-Op.
The shop is due to open at 7am on Friday, September 13.
