A NEW survey has been launched about a “hidden gem” in Yate.

Yate Town Council is currently asking for people’s views about improving the Pop Inn Café located in the shopping centre.

The unique cafe - which is nestled between the library and the One Stop Shop - is a place for customers and volunteers aged over 50.

It is also home to the popular memory cafe, that provides a listening ear and free activities for people with memory loss, and their carers.

The cafe is part of the town council’s mission to help the community age better.

A town council spokesperson said: “At the cafe, customers enjoy bargain brews, social lunches, music, alfresco cream teas and opportunities to make new friends.

“We want to know after more than 22 years of service – what do you think about the Pop Inn Café?

“What would you like it to provide for the over 50s community, to help us live and age better?”
