VIBRANT colours and a unique race are set to take over Dursley town centre as part of pride celebrations this weekend.
The pre-pride event in Dursley is due to take place on Saturday, August 24.
People will be dressing up in fancy dress as part of a fabulous ‘drag race’ from 11am.
According to organisers, participants will race each other from the dentist down to the marketplace.
Meanwhile, the main Dursley Pride event is due to make its return on the bank holiday Monday, August 26.
This year’s event will take place at the Rec - the War Memorial Recreational Ground - located off Kingshill Road.
The pride parade will meet at Dursley bus station at 12pm - with participants aiming to arrive at the Rec for 1pm.
Visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment including aerialists, drag artists, bands and a choir.
Other entertainment will include stalls, a fairground, traditional games, food trucks, a big red bus bar, a cocktail bar, a photo booth and a craft area.
There will also be birds of prey, a sensory area, a youth chill zone by The Door, a Zumba class, plus face painting and glitter tattoos.
Dursley Pride will take place from 12pm until 6pm.
Elsewhere, a ticketed 18+ after party will take place at the Chantry Centre on Saturday, September 7.
Organisers say the event is strictly 18+ as there will be drag artists doing 18+ acts, a pole dancer and burlesque artists.
Co-chair and founder of Dursley Pride Tyler White said: “We have a lot going on this year!
“It will be fun for everyone.”
