A NEW rector is due to join a historic church in Dursley.
Revd Juliet Jensen is due to take over services at the St James the Great as part of the Ewelme Benefice.
Revd Juliet will replace Canon Michael Cozens, who retired in July last year after nine years of service.
She said: “I’m very pleased to be living in Dursley and am really really looking forward to spending time in the villages and the glorious hills.”
The benefice also incorporates the Church of England parishes of Dursley and Uley.
This includes the following churches: the closed St Mark in Woodmancote, St James the Great in Dursley, St Giles in Uley, the Holy Cross in Owlpen and St Bartholomew in Nympsfield.
Revd Juliet’s previous parish was Saint James and All Saints and Christ Church (Benefice) in Gloucester.
She will officially be licensed at a service in St James on Sunday, September 1 at 3pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
