Are you considering installing solar panels but unsure where to start? The latest edition of the "Solar Together" scheme is now open for registrations in the West Of England. This scheme offers residents the opportunity to access high-quality solar panels and battery storage at competitive prices.

Making Installations More Affordable

Supported by councils and authorities in the region, the Solar Together scheme aims to make solar systems more affordable for homeowners. By bringing residents together to make a group, the scheme enables participants to save 10-25% on their solar PV installation costs while receiving support and guidance from a team of solar experts.

Residents Eligible to Participate in New Scheme

To participate, you need to own the property or have permission from the property owner to install a solar system on the roof. Small and medium-sized businesses and Commonhold Associations that meet these requirements can also participate.

Hassle-Free Process and Added Benefits

The registration process is hassle-free, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to switch to solar while saving money.

Here's how it works:

1. Register: Show your interest for free at solartogether.co.uk before the 18th of October, 2024.

2. Auction: Solar Together hosts an auction where trusted installers compete to give their best price.

3. Personal Recommendation: Get a system recommendation based on your home and energy requirements.

4. Make a Choice: You can decide whether you want to move forward with the installation.

By registering, you will also learn how much you could save on your energy bills with solar panels and battery storage and how much you could earn by exporting excess energy.

In addition to these benefits, you can choose to install optional battery storage or electric vehicle charge points.

Impact and Endorsements

The initiative has already created a significant impact in the region by successfully installing 16,797 solar panels. The scheme is anticipated to prevent 1,319 tonnes of carbon emissions over the next 25 years.

The Solar Together initiative has received endorsements from community leaders and local authorities across the West of England Combined Authority, Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council.

Tangible Benefits and Savings for Participants

People who have taken part in the scheme share that it has brought them real benefits. Jeremy from Bristol praised the smooth process and the savings he made after installing 14 panels. Installing a solar and battery system will allow him to save £193 per year. An export tariff will also provide him with an additional income of £348 per year.
