A COMMUNITY artist was commissioned by Yate Town Council to tell the story of Old Yate, with a bright and colourful art mural in the community garden, at the Station Road Halls.

Artist Tanith Gould’s design features the area’s rich history including mining, the railway and film - as the Parish Hall was the first cinema in Yate during the 1930s.

Visitors to the area are welcomed to use Eggshill Lane play area and the community garden (when not in use by hirers of the halls), via the pedestrian access from Station Road – just look out for the Welcome To Old Yate sign, and let yourselves in!

It also includes a colourful range of seating, boiler replacements and new insulation - to provide residents and groups with inclusive and sustainable venues in central Yate.
