A YATE man has been sentenced for committing FIVE offences on the same day including smashing a bottle of brandy in Lidl.
Wayne Virgo, aged 34, of Brookthorpe, Yate, was sentenced at Bristol Magistrates Court.
He admitted five criminal offences which all happened on December 1 last year.
These were assaulting an emergency worker, assault, using threatening behaviour, criminal damage and racially or religiously aggravated harassment.
The criminal damage related to Virgo destroying a £19.99 bottle of pear brandy at Lidl in Kennedy Way in Yate.
He also assaulted a man in the store, assaulted a police officer in Sundridge Park, Yate and used threatening behaviour towards a police sergeant at the same location.
For assaulting a police officer, Virgo was given a community order which required him to abstain from consuming alcohol.
He was also given 110 hours of unpaid work and must pay £50 compensation with £85 and a £114 surcharge.
For the assault, he was given 110 hours of unpaid work and £30 compensation.
For using threatening behaviour he was given 110 hours of unpaid work, for the criminal damage he must pay £19.99 in compensation and for the racially or religiously aggravated harassment he must pay a £350 fine.
