A MAN from Thornbury has been banned from the roads for drug-driving.
Samuel Smith, aged 25, of Howard Road, Thornbury, was caught over the limit for cocaine derivative benzoylecgonine and also had no insurance
He was caught while driving a Vauxhall in Acre Drive, Patchway on February 11.
According to the court register, he had 212 micrograms of cocaine derivative benzoylecgonine in his blood - the legal limit is 50.
Smith pleaded guilty at Bristol Magistrates Court on September 12, where he was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £48 surcharge plus £85 in costs - a total of £253.
He was banned for 12 months.
