WORKS to resurface a key Thornbury road mean a closure will be in place for nearly two weeks.

The resurfacing - at Grovesend Road, Thornbury - will take place from Monday, October 7.

A spokesperson for South Gloucestershire Street Care said: "Essential road resurfacing works will be carried out overnight on Grovesend Road, Thornbury lasting for nearly two weeks.

"Starting from Monday, October 7, the works will begin to plane off the existing surface of the carriageway and the laying of a new surface.

"The work will start at 8pm and remain in place until approximately 6am weekday nights.

"These works will create a significant amount of noise and we apologise for any inconvenience the roadworks may cause.

"A signed diversion will be in place."
