THE OWNER of a restaurant which has returned to its ‘spiritual’ Thornbury home six years after its closure has thanked the community for the support.
Mezze, which closed in Thornbury in 2018, had previously been based in the former White Lion and Royal George buildings.
It has now made a comeback in Thornbury High Street at the site of the former Thornbury Tap and reopened on Tuesday.
Owner Marius Mirella - who goes by Mario - is a local resident who said bringing the restaurant back to the town ‘means a lot’ to him.
He said: “Bringing Mezze back to Thornbury means so much to me.
“Thank you to everyone who made the opening night unforgettable
“We are so grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate our return.
“Seeing our community come together and enjoy the Mediterranean flavour."
