AN appeal has been launched after a convicted prisoner absconded from a prison near Wotton.
Officers are looking to trace 39-year-old Steven Stewart who was reported missing from HMP Leyhill on Saturday evening, November 9.
Avon and Somerset Police say Stewart was serving a sentence for wounding with intent after his conviction in Sussex in 2021.

He also has names tattooed on his left arm and "England" on his right as well as tattoos on his hands.
He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, dark-coloured zip-up jumper, dark-coloured jogging bottoms and white trainers.
A police spokesperson said: “Can you help us find Steven Stewart?
“If you see Steven please don't approach him: call 999 at once, ref 5224295968, or ring 101 with any other information.”
