PUPILS at a village school in the area have been kept busy thanks to new outdoor gym equipment.

The apparatus - which includes slalom skiers, sky steppers, health walkers and horse riders - has been installed at St Peter’s Primary School in Pilning.

The equipment can accommodate up to eight children at a time.

Executive headteacher Paul Smith said: “We’ve had to introduce a rota for using the equipment as it is so popular!

“We were delighted to receive such tremendous support from local businesses and charities in addition to the ongoing hard work our parents put into raising funds through the Friends of St Peter’s.

“We are really grateful to them all for helping us provide extra opportunities for the children.”

The project was coordinated by administration assistant Jemma Sheppard.

Donations were made by The Friends of St Peter’s, Moto Foundation (Aust Services), Thornbury Round Table, Thornbury Lions, Henbury Lands Trust, Elmtree Garden, Hays Recruitment, Prospero Training and Zen Educate Recruitment.
