RADIO presenters swapped their microphones for goggles as part of a mammoth swimming challenge in Yate.
Yate Active Lifestyle Centre was the location of the final leg in the 1,000 mile challenge undertaken by BBC Radio Bristol presenters.
Radio stars Claire Carter, Joe Lemer, Pete Simpson, Nicki Ledgard and Joe Sims swam the equivalent of 24 miles in a week for Children in Need.
The group were supported by centre staff and swimmers at the challenge which took place on Thursday, November 7.
Leisure centre manager Adam Cooper said it was one of the best days he had spent working at the Circadian Trust, which runs local leisure centres across South Gloucestershire.
He said: “Everyone was in a great mood and wanted the day to run so well, and it did!
“The atmosphere at the end for the final swim was incredible, everyone got involved to cheer the presenters over the line.”
Some of the centre staff also ran a cake sale, which raised £427 on the day.
Southwold Swimming Club and Yate Acro Gymnastic Centre joined the Yate team in supporting the challenge.
Other fundraising initiatives included ‘guess the amount of sweets’ competition and sales of Pudsey ears pin badges and pens.
The BBC Radio Bristol team joined swim teams from stations across the UK who were aiming to complete the challenge in one week.
