PREPARATIONS are underway for Berkeley’s annual festive event - which organisers say will be bigger and better than ever.

Christmas at Berkeley is due to return on Friday, November 29 with a colourful lantern parade and a visit from Father Christmas.

The evening will also include the town’s lights being switched on and a live nativity scene with primary school pupils.

Also taking place includes carols, a silver band, party games, donkeys, a magician, face painting, a raffle and live music from local band Goodnight Lois.

Food and drink will be provided by the Perfect Blend, Berkeley Tea Rooms and the Bakery.

The Berkeley Arms and Berkeley Castle will be opening up their new café and shop for the event.

The evening will take place from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.

An organiser said: “We look forward to seeing you there for a snowy, festive evening!”

Four local organisations will be supported by the event including SARA, Berkeley Players Drama Group, Cotswold Community Men's Shed and Berkeley Community Swimming Pool.
