NOMINATIONS are open for awards to recognise some of Thornbury’s unsung heroes.
People are being asked to submit names of people who go above and beyond in the town’s mayor’s awards.
The awards - which are being organised by Thornbury Town Council - will be announced at a special ceremony at Thornbury Castle in February next year.
A town council spokesperson said: “Let’s celebrate the amazing people who go above and beyond to make Thornbury such a fantastic place to live by nominating them for the Mayor’s Awards!
“Every vote matters - please put forward your nominations and let those who do so much know how special and important they are to Thornbury.”
Nominations close at 9am on Monday, December 2.

Award categories include: small business, large business, community hero (individual), community hero (group or organisation), amateur sport (youth team), amateur sport (adult team), amateur sport (individual), amateur sport (volunteer leader), arts (youth), arts (adult) and arts (organisation or facilitator).
