Storm Bert has led to flooding, bought trees down and is causing travel disruption across the area.
These pictures show trees blocking roads and flooding in the Dursley area.
A yellow weather warning is in place for the south west for the rest of today, Sunday, including Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bristol and Somerset.
Gloucestershire police are advising motorists to stay at home unless their journey is urgent.
A spokesperson said: "We are advising motorists to stay at home unless travel is urgent due to multiple roads have now become flooded and trees blocking roads around the county.
"Officers are trying their best to manage diversions whilst working with Highways England and Gloucestershire fire and rescue service."

- The junction at Lewis Lane/Sheep Street, Cirencester is flooded
- Thames Head bridge on the A433 between Cirencester and Tetbury Road is reported to be closed
- Harnhill to Driffield near Cirencester is impassable
- The A429 between the M4 and Malmesbury is impassable under the Lower Stanton St Quintin railway bridge
- The B4014, Tetbury to Malmsbury road is badly flooded in several places
- Roads are badly flooded at Corston near Malmsbury
- Park Road Malmsbury is flooded
- The A4135 between Dursley and Tetbury is blocked by a fallen tree at Beverston
- Hopton Road in Cam is flooded
- The Farfield lane between Cam and Uley near the Hydegate Pet Resort kennels is blocked with several trees down.
- A tree blocking the bottom of Bussage Hill near Stroud near the junction with the Vatch
- The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Little Avon River and other rivers and streams in the Vale of Berkeley for today, Sunday, November 24.
- The A40 in Highnam is closed in both directions due to flooding. Emergency services received a report that the road was blocked at 12.35pm today and are currently at the scene. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
