STAFF and pupils at Stone school have been celebrating this week after achieving the best test results in the county.
Stone with Woodford CoE Primary School was joint top of the table with Eastington Primary in the annual SATs results league table for Keg Stage two, which examines 11-years-olds. The school achieved 100 per cent of pupils gaining a level four or above in English, maths and science. They also had a top Value Added Score, which indicated how well the children did compared with what was predicted for their achievement and shows how much the school and pupils have improved.
Dr David Joyce, chairman of governors, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the results this year and are very pleased to be joint top of the county out of around 200 schools.
"Also Stone was one of just eight schools to record 100 per cent pass rates in every subject, this is the second time in three years. This is down to the pupils, the staff and to our head teacher Mrs McCalmont who has done a fantastic job."
