UP TO 900 jobs are set to be created in Cam after a development company put in a planning application for a new business park.
It is estimated that the proposal would represent an investment worth in excess of £30 million.
Bathurst ltd have submitted a planning application this month for the business park, which will be called Millfields, in Draycott.
Despite the current economic climate the development company is moving forward quickly with the application and hopes to be on site to start work as soon as possible.
David Scott, spokesman for Bathurst said: "During the current climate Bathurst is really showing confidence in the area and going ahead with the plans."
The scheme will include a mixture of offices, factories and warehouses. The plans also include a wildlife area, large water feature, a new network of footpaths and cycleways and a new junction onto the A4135 with traffic calming measures and a pedestrian crossing.
The planning application was submitted to Stroud District Council on April 7 and a decision is expected at the end of May.
The application is an outline proposal to get planning permission for the use of the land. The detailed design of buildings will be submitted at the next stage.
