WE love where we live, according to a new report on South Gloucestershire.
An annual investigation into people’s quality of life in the district has revealed people are happier with their local area than in previous years.
The Quality of life: better or worse? report found that residents’ satisfaction has increased over the last three years, with the proportion of respondents who said they are 'very satisfied' increasing significantly.
Residents said they liked living in South Gloucestershire because of improving school exam results, good life expectancy rates and low levels of crime.
They also pinpointed an increase in the number of affordable houses being built as a good reason to live in the region and a decrease in the number of accidents on our roads.
Cllr John Calway, leader of South Gloucestershire Council, said: "This report shows that we are delivering on our priorities, which have been shaped with the views of local people and our partner organisations.
"We are delighted that the vast majority of people enjoy living in South Gloucestershire, and that they enjoy a good standard of living.
"But we are not complacent and will continue to improve so that South Gloucestershire remains a great place to live and work."
The findings of the report will be used by the council and its partners to identify future priorities.
