A MOTORIST approached a man carrying a running chainsaw in an altercation in Dursley, police have revealed.
Police were called to School Road after residents witnessed a red Escort-type van driving along the road at speed, with the occupant shouting at a small group of people, at 10.10pm last night.
The driver, a 23-year-old man from Dursley, then got out of the vehicle carrying a running chainsaw and approached another 23-year-old man. An altercation ensued before the driver left in the van.
The driver of the van was arrested a short while later on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon. He sustained minor cuts and bruises to his wrist during the incident. Nobody else was injured.
